After one terrible massage experience that left her swearing she’d never do it again, Abby finally gave it another shot and this time, it couldn’t have gone better.
Bobby paid for it, Amy set it up, and the whole thing was done quietly... no advertisers, no fanfare, just a chance for Abby to actually enjoy herself. She was nervous walking in, but the massage therapist turned out to be super nice and professional. Soft, relaxing music was playing, she kept everything respectful and by the book, only lifting the towel where she needed to massage, and the whole thing was, in Abby’s words, "AWESOME."
By the end, Abby didn’t want it to end and said she’d love to go back every week if she could. Quite the turnaround from her last experience, where she couldn’t wait for it to be over. Now, she’s officially declaring massages her new favorite gift idea. Meanwhile, Bobby had a few thoughts on the massage experience, but not about the relaxation part. He admitted he’s terrible at chilling. When he gets massages, he props his phone up so he can see the time through the face cradle. Same thing in yoga, he always needs to know how much time is left. He even does it when watching TV, constantly pausing to check how far he is into an episode. His wife Caitlin can’t stand it. And for the record, when they start a new series, Bobby and his wife refuse to read the episode titles or look at the pictures, they want to go in completely blind.
So, Abby’s found her new go-to for self-care, and Bobby’s still just trying to figure out how to relax or at least, how to do it on schedule.
