TMSG: Off-Duty NJ State Trooper Saves Infant After Neighbor Seeks Help

New Jersey State Trooper Robert Meyer was asleep on Saturday (February 3rd) after working a night shift. Trooper Meyer was awoken by his neighbor, a victim seeking help for her two-week-old granddaughter who was choking.

The victim saw Trooper Meyer's marked car parked outside and went after his help. Trooper Meyer responded immediately to find the baby blue and struggling to breathe. He cleared the baby's nose and mouth, which immediately cleared her airway of mucus that was obstructing her breathing.

Baby Elizabeth was transported to an area hospital were she was treated and released the same day. She is expected to make a full recovery. Great job Trooper Meyer!
