Dierks Bentley paused his performance to congratulate a newly-engaged couple in the crowd at one of his shows.

It was a “first” for Bentley, who said he’d never spotted an engagement during “Say You Do” over the course of his more-than two-decade career as a country artist. Bentley released “Say You Do” on his 12-track studio album, Riser, in 2014. that album, also included “I Hold On,” “Drunk on a Plane” and more. Bentley shared a clip of that moment on Instagram on Tuesday (August 19). The engagement took place during his August 14 concert at Darien Lake Amphitheater in Buffalo, New York.

“In all my years of doing this, I’ve never seen somebody get married or get engaged in the middle of this song. But apparently, somebody just got engaged over here. She said ‘I do,’” Bentley told the audience during the performance. He pointed out the couple in the crowd and said, “let’s see that ring...nice job, dude!

“Congratulations, y’all!”
