Gabby Barrett revealed the release date of her next single after months of posting teasers to stir anticipation.
Barrett, 25, will release “The Easy Part” later this week, she confirmed on Monday(July 28). She previously shared sneak peeks of the unreleased anthem, including the first verse and chorus: “Hey, I know that you made up your mind/ Said you didn’t mean it this time/ You’re mad and you don’t even know why/ But I ain’t begging you to stay/ I ain’t going through it again/ Makin’ up and wondering when/ You decide how it all does and doesn’t end, so…
“Go on and slam that front door/ Go on and tell me where I can go/ Put that pedal to the floor board/ Leave me a mess in the middle of the road/ Go all Jack D crazy/ Tell yourself that leaving me is so hard/ But I’ve got news for you, baby/ That’ll be the easy part”
Barrett has been dropping hints about “the next chapter” for months. “The Easy Part” will be the former American Idol contestant’s first song to release since Carols and Candlelight, Barrett’s first-ever Christmas album that made its debut in November. That was the second of two albums the singer-songwriter released in 2024, following her sophomore record, Chapter & Verse. That album included “Cowboy Back,” “Dance Like No One’s Watching,” “Glory Days,” “Growin’ Up Raising You” and more.
Barrett will release “The Easy Part” on Friday (August 1). Her announcement arrives in the midst of her “Life I’m Living Tour” dates. See the list of upcoming stops below.
