Chris Stapleton delivered an improvised tribute to John Stamos during his appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Wednesday night (April 17), which featured a surprise appearance by Stamos himself.

Stapleton played Wing It & Sing It on the show, a game that puts the reigning ACM Entertainer of the Year on the spot as he sings lyrics he’s never seen before as they appear written on cue cards. Stapleton played his guitar as host Jimmy Kimmel revealed the words on each card.

“I was very tickled to learn that you are a fan of the show Full House, or at least you were when you were a kid. That is the theme for our song tonight,” Kimmel said as he kicked off Wing It & Sing It with Stapleton. The “White Horse” hitmaker said “this is really silly,” and began to play the impromptu ballad, holding back laughter at some of the never-before-seen lyrics as images of Stamos appeared on a screen in the background.

Stamos, wearing a Stapleton tour t-shirt, joined the country star on stage. Stapleton continued, singing, “well, holy sh*t. Wow. My dream has come true. John Stamos, you’re awesome, and I do love you.” Watch it here:

Stapleton also joined Kimmel for an interview on the show, speaking about Kimmel’s request for him to play “It Takes a Woman” live for the first time on the late night talk show, earning the most stylish superlative in high school, future plans for his signature beard and more.
