This shocked me! Adam Levine has been in a red swivel chair since the very beginning! However, he just announced he will not be a part of the show moving forward. This is apparently after he had confirmed he would be back for the upcoming season 17 in the fall. There is speculation as to why he quit having to do with a new rule which says not all 4 judges have to have a contestant in the finals. Check out more here.
