Did Keith Urban End Interview Over 'Uncomfortable' Nicole Kidman Question?

Keith Urban appeared to abruptly end an interview when he received a “deeply personal,” “uncomfortable” question about his wife, award-winning actress Nicole Kidman.

However, an unnamed source denies apparent allegations that the country star hung up on the call. That source told PEOPLE on Tuesday (July 1): “Keith did not hang up, period. He doesn't host his Zoom interviews. This is a complete nothingburger.”

Urban was in the midst of a conversation with Hayley Pearson and Max Burford, co-hosts of Hayley & Max in the Morning in Adelaide, Australia, when the interview went “horribly wrong.”

It started with Urban reminiscing on previous performances in Adelaide, his upcoming concert as part of his headlining “High and Alive World Tour,” bing-watching shows (including those starring Kidman), and more. That’s when Burford suggested a game that “results in the hang up.” Hayley & Max in the Morning revealed “the question that tips him over the edge” in a clip played on the show. Urban agreed to play Wall of Truth, which entails answering “a very tricky question, deeply personal question.”

Burford noted Kidman’s role in Family Affair, which also starred Zac Efron, and wanted to know, “what does Keith Urban think when he sees his beautiful wife with beautiful, younger men like Zac Efron having these beautiful love scenes on TV and radio?”

That’s when Urban seemingly dropped the call (though he quickly said “that’s a good one” after Burford brought up Family Affair). The Hayley & Max in the Morning hosts quickly wondered whether Urban intentionally ended the call, and whether the game had upset him. Listen to the interview here:
