President-elect Donald Trump is reportedly expected to name Florida Senator Marco Rubio to be his Secretary of State.
If Rubio takes the job, Governor Ron DeSantis would be responsible for naming someone to succeed Rubio until 2026 when a special election will be held.
And DeSantis is reportedly considering Lieutenant Governor Jeanette Nunez for Rubio's Senate seat, or he may resign as governor and have Nunez succeed him and then appoint DeSantis to the Senate.
DeSantis is also considering appointing Attorney General Ashley Moody, House Speaker Jose Oliva and DeSantis' wife, First Lady Casey DeSantis, according to reports.
