Drunk driver runs over body parts, leads police on chase in Central Florida

A drunk Florida driver led police on a high speed chase after speeding through a hit-and-run investigation and running over the severed limbs of the victim.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, authorities were investigating the death of a 49-year-old woman who was walking along a Dade City road before she was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver.

First responders found the victim’s torso on the shoulder and her legs in the roadway.

A short time later, 23-year-old Thomas Krummen approached the scene at a high speed, ignoring commands to stop and running over the victim's severed legs before fleeing.

Florida State Troopers chased Krummen and used a pit maneuver with a patrol car to force him to stop.

Krummen was charged with aggravated assault with a motor vehicle upon a law enforcement officer, reckless driving, DUI, fleeing and eluding, destruction of evidence, driving while license revoked and false imprisonment.

The arrest marks the eighth time Krummen’s been arrested in Pasco County in less than four years.
