A South Florida teen is expected to face charges after a crash that claimed six lives.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office says a 17-year old boy driving under the influence and at a "high rate of speed" crashed a BMW into the back of an SUV around 11 p.m. Thursday night west of Delray Beach.

The Nissan Rogue was sent into a median along State Road 7, before flipping over and landing upside down.

Five people in the SUV died at the crash scene and a sixth passed away at the hospital later.

The Wellington teen who investigators said was under the influence of "alchohol/drugs" suffered only minor injuries.

An investigation is underway.
