Legislation Would Keep Religious Services Going During Emergency

New legislation in the Florida House would keep religious services going during the next pandemic.

House Bill 215 prohibits emergency orders from stopping religious services with some exceptions.

Rep. Nick DiCeglie is sponsoring the legislation and says its about protecting religious freedom.

But American Atheist spokesperson Devon Graham says the pandemic has forced everyone to change the way they live their lives.

The Committee voting in favor of the bill.

Similar legislation is making its way through the Florida Senate.
