Miami-Dade police arrested a man on Sunday who tried to strangle a woman with a shoelace at a bus stop in Northwest Miami-Dade.
According to police, the victim was sitting at Miami International Airport Bus Stop 13, located near Northwest 25th Street and 28th Avenue when the attack occurred around 11AM Sunday morning.
Aaron Quinones, 27, approached the woman from behind and wrapped a shoelace around her neck, before punching the victim as she found back.
Investigators said an unidentified witness saw the incident and stopped the attack, promoting Quinones to flee.
Responding officers canvassed the area, locating Quinones and taking him into custody.
Quinones was booked into jail, where he remained held without bond Monday.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded and treated the woman at the scene.
