WATCH: Florida AG Announces Website to Recruit Cops from Out of State

TAMPA -- Flanked by the Hillsborough County sheriff and local law enforcement, Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody rolled out a new recruiting website to bring more police to take jobs in Florida.

BeaFloridaHero.com is meant to encourage job seekers nationwide, including police in other states. The site is interactive and links to openings at agencies across the state.

Moody's office says staffing shortages nationwide are attributed to budget cuts, and low morale among officers due to last year's protests over the death of George Floyd.

Moody says "Florida is the most pro-law enforcement state in the nation" and the state "wants officers from areas that don't value their service."

Moody's announcement comes after Governor DeSantis' proposal to offer a $5,000 signing bonus and relocation support for officers new to Florida.
