The Palm Beach County School District has a new leader...at least on an interim basis.
The School Board has voted to finalize Mike Burke's contract as Interim Superintendent, after Donald Fennoy turned in his resignation.
Burke was sworn in by school board Chairman Frank Barbieri Wednesday night.
The former school district CFO will oversee the start of the new school year on August 10 and will remain on the job while the board searches for a full-time Superintendent, though he is eligible to apply for that job.
Fennoy will serve in a new position, Chief of Staff within the school district, until the day before the school year begins.
That keeps him on hand to serve as an advisor to Burke, who has been employed by the school district since 1998.
