The Palm Beach County School Board will begin the process of searching for a new superintendent at its public meeting Wednesday.

Superintendent Donald Fennoy announced his resignation last week, effective October 11, but the school board could choose to replace him before that.

Fennoy has said that masks will be optional this upcoming school year, though possible changes to that plan are expected to be brought up during the meeting.

This as the American Academy of Pediatrics has said that everyone in schools over the age of 2 should wear masks, even those who have been vaccinated.

The school board meeting starts at 5 p.m. and will stream live on the school district's website.

If you want to attend the meeting, it is open to the public at the School District headquarters at 3300 Forest Hill Blvd. West Palm Beach.
