Critical Race Theory Banned In Florida Classrooms

Critical race theory is officially off the lesson plans in Florida Public School.

Florida Board of Education members approve a rule prohibiting teachers from giving personal views on American history and mandates they do not teach that racism is embedded in American society.

Dozens spoke out in favor and against CRT.

The President of the state's largest teachers union, the Florida Education Association, opposes the rule.

Governor Ron DeSantis opened the meeting saying we need to educate kids about historical facts, and he stresses slavery, civil rights and the Holocaust are already taught in our schools.

Both rule supporters and opponents agree teachers should encourage critical thinking and offer kids the true history of this country.
