St Pete Mayor Defies Flag Lowering Order for Rush Limbaugh

ST. PETERSBURG -- Another Democrat in Florida is rejecting calls to lower flags in honor of Rush Limbaugh.

St. Petersburg Mayor Rick Kriseman replied to someone on Twitter, saying his city wouldn't lower flags for the radio icon who died Wednesday at age 70. He said the city doesn't "honor hatred, racism, bigotry, homophobia, or anything else he has spewed over the years."

Kriseman said the city would honor Pinellas Deputy Michael Maglim We are, however, honoring the life of Deputy Michael Magli, who was run down and killed by a suspected drunk driver last week.

Earlier Monday, State Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried announced she would not lower state flags to half staff for Rush.
