A Florida congresswoman reminds people running non-profits and houses of worship that the latest round of the Paycheck Protection Program is NOT just for businesses that turn a profit.
"There are new funds...that's the good news...new funds that are focused on businesses and non-profits with 300 employees or less, and applications are going to be approved in order of those in need."
Debra Salas with the Small Business Administration in South Florida says those types of organizations can feel free to apply.
"We added more 501c6's, 501c3's, so we boosted the non-profit eligibility."
The deadline to apply is March 31st and the funding helps with up to 24 weeks of payroll.
There are also opportunities to turn the loan into a forgiveness loan, which does not need to be paid back.
Frankel says even more help is on the way.
"I expect we will be passing another relief package soon, which will have more money for the PPP."
