TAMPA -- Two men have entered guilty pleas for their role in a racing-related crash that killed a 24-year-old woman and her young daughter in 2018.
21-year-old Cameron Herron, driver of the Ford Mustang that struck and killed Jessica Reisinger-Rabinault and her 21-month-old daughter Lillia Rabinault, pled guilty to two counts of vehicular homicide and unlawful racing. He'll be sentenced after an investigation and a February 18th hearing. The state wants him to serve 18 1/2 years in prison.
20-year-old John Barrineau, driver of the other car, pled guilty. Judge Christopher Nash sentenced him to six years in prison plus 15 years' probation. His driver's license will be suspended for five years and he'll have to perform 200 hours of community service, half of which would involve talking to young people about the dangers of reckless driving.
Prosecutors, accessing data recorded by Herron's car, say it was traveling as fast as 102 mph before striking Reisinger-Rabinault as she was pushing her daughter in a stroller across Bayshore.
