Florida posted a 6.5 percent unemployment rate in October. That was down from a revised September rate of 7.2 percent.
The rate last month was up 3.6 percent from one year ago, before the state was thrust into a pandemic.
There were 659,000 jobless Floridians in October, 72,000 fewer than in September.
The decline in October's unemployment rate came as Florida continues efforts to reopen the economy but faces long-term struggles in the hospitality and tourism industries amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Osceola County, home to a portion of Walt Disney World (part of the property sits in Orange County), had the state's highest jobless rate at 10.4 percent.
Wakulla County, in the Panhandle, had the lowest rate at 3.5 percent.
Palm Beach County had a 6.1 percent unemployment rate in October, down from 6.6 in September, but up from 3.1 percent in 2019.
