No National Guardsmen At PBIA To Help Enforce 14-Day Isolation Order

One South Florida airport has no members of the National Guard on hand to help with a directive from the governor regarding travelers from the Northeast.

Governor Ron DeSantis is ordering all travelers from New York and the Tri-state area to go into isolation for 14 days once arriving in Florida, including those who've traveled here in the past three weeks.

To help enforce this he has dispatched members of the National Guard to busy airports around the state, but not Palm Beach International, where there are more than 20 flights from that region per day.

Airport officials say they don't make the call. They wait for the health department to lead the way.

A Florida Department of Health official says the state will continue expanding coverage.

Guardsmen have been sent to Miami International and Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airports, which are considered major hubs.
