Dozens of Tampa Cops Quarantined over COVID-19

TAMPA -- Tampa police chief Brian Dugan says "several dozen" officers are quarantined, after 15 of them were exposed to the novel coronavirus in the line of duty.

Speaking in a Facebook Live event, Dugan is asking citizens to use "common sense." He says cops are used to dealing with blood and bullets, but the invisible virus is making work difficult for officers. Dugan urges residents not to take COVID-19 lightly.

Dugan says three officers were quarantined last night after performing CPR on a person who later died of unknown causes.

News Channel 8 reports the actual number at 42.

UPDATE: Tampa Mayor Jane Castor says a Tampa police officer has tested positive for coronavirus.
