Security Beefed Up At South Florida Synagogues As Jews Observe Yom Kippur

Security is beefed up at synagogues and temples across South Florida as Jews mark the high holiday of Yom Kippur beginning at sundown. Rabbi Rathel Tennenhaus of Chabad South Florida says ever since the Pittsburgh synagogue shooting last October they've had extra security on their property. Yom Kippur is the Jewish Day of Atonement where according to tradition, God weighs people’s deeds and decides their fate for the next year. Those observing will fast and attend services instead of going to work.
