Gov DeSantis Wants To Give Raises To Teacher

Governor Ron DeSantis is touring the state today making big announcements when it comes to education reform.

He wants to make a $600-million investment that would help alleviate the current teacher shortage.

Gov. DeSantis says, if passed by the legislature, the starting salary for teachers will be the second highest in the nation - only behind New Jersey.

Currently we're in the bottom half, with a starting salary of less than $38,000.

More than 100,000 public school teachers would get raises under Governor Ron DeSantis' budget proposal to raise their starting salary from less than $38,000 a year to $47,500.
