Tampa & St. Petersburg Rank Near Bottom for Public Transit

WASHINGTON -- Personal finance site Wallethub ranked 100 U.S. cities' public transportation systems, using factors such as accessibility, convenience, safety, reliability and resources.

Florida didn't do well in general and one part of the state did horribly.

Wallethub analyst Jill Gonzalez says Tampa (Hillsborough County) ranked 98th and St. Petersburg (Pinellas County) came in 99th in their transit survey. Only Indianapolis ranked worse.

Miami had the best ranking of any Florida city at number 52, followed by Orlando at 56th and Jacksonville at 61st. Hialeah came in 78th. Best in the nation... Seattle, followed by Boston and San Francisco.

Gonzalez describes public transportation in the Tampa Bay area as "almost nonexistent."
