Murders And Rapes Rise In South Florida

Murders and rapes are on the rise in South Florida.

The FDLE yesterday released its crime statistics from 2018, and its report shows crime dropped overall in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties.

With the entire state seeing a crime rate drop of 9% in 2018.

The 2018 annual Uniform Crime Report shows the crime rate is at a 48-year low.

Miami-Dade had the most murders of the three counties in South Florida with 198, while Broward had 96 and Palm Beach 91.

The report indicates violent crime offenses are down by 4.2% and property crimes lessened by 7.9%.

Governor DeSantis says there is more work to be done as murder and rape offenses did increase.

Rapes and murders were up in Miami-Dade and Broward counties, and while Palm Beach County recorded one fewer murder than last year, but rapes increased.
