An historic and deadly Atlantic hurricane season officially ends today.
There were a total of 17 named storms, the third-most since records have been kept.
Hurricane Irma is blamed for 72 deaths in Florida. The state is getting 615-million dollars in federal aid to repair damage from Irma, including housing, roads, bridges, sidewalks and business losses.
After today, the 2017 Atlantic Hurricane Season is in the books. This was a well above average season with 17 named storms (tied for 9th place) and 10 hurricanes (tied for 8th place).
