Who's ready for a $1500 ice cream sundae?

Mary Stevens/CNBC

I've been known to spend more money than I should on a reealllly great meal. But as much as I love trying new foods, I think I'd draw the line at this $1500 ice cream sundae, available at the Baccarat Hotel in New York City.

It's been dubbed the World's Most Expensive Ice Cream Sundae. The house-made vanilla ice cream is made from imported vanilla beans from Madagascar. It's covered in a white chocolate shell that's painted with cocoa butter, and sits upon a black truffle crumble (black truffles are $95 an ounce, in case you didn't know). The sundae also contains black chocolate cocoa nibs, a champagne hibiscus sauce, citrus meringue, and is embellished with fondant butterflies and angel hair sugar strands. It is then served in a crystal dish, which itself costs $1200.

That's pretty fancy. I'd totally eat it, but not for $1500. You're talking to a girl who thinks Ben & Jerry's is too expensive at $5.99 a pint. But what can I say, I'm cheap.

By the way, you can get the sundae without the crystal dish for a paltry $300. I miiiiight be persuaded to order the $300 non-crystal version...if you got me drunk first, and then promised cut my grass every week for the next 2 months.

Would you consider spending this kind of money on a fancy AF sundae?
