New Smyrna was our old stomping grounds when we lived on central Florida... so we were informed as soon as we started going there TONS of sharks here, never take the helicopter site seeing ride you'll never get in the water again one of our friends use to tell us. Well with this story .... A Florida dad using a drone to take photos of his kids at the beach got an unexpected scare when he noticed a shark approaching them in the shallow water. (Guess our friends were correct.....)
Dan Watson was taking aerial shots of his kids at New Smyrna Beach, where just days earlier an 18-year-old surfer was bitten by a shark. As his drone was recording footage, he noticed the shadow of a shark lurking near his kids and he called out for them to get out of the water. He says, "There would have been no way to have known or seen about this from any way, except that I happened to fly the drone at that moment in time." He shared the photos on Instagram.
