WOW.. That seemed like a bad call to me, did you see how bad that track was from the rain on Saturday? In all that mud you would think you would have to move around to keep the horse from slipping. When did the Kentucky Derby become the New England Patriots of Horse racing.... looked to me like a lot of people got SCREWED out of some money?!?!
I'm just a spectator watching not a fan. "wow great race, wait what just happen there the horse "the track" wanted to WIN, didn't so they just take it away like that... Is this normal??? (Moving on I guess)
WOW what a joke.... as bad as that track was from the rain this past weekend, really when did the Kentucky Derby become the New England Partaiots
Maximum Security still isn't the winner of the Kentucky Derby.
The Kentucky Horse Racing Commission has quickly denied an appeal by his owners to reverse his disqualification on Saturday. Maximum Security finished first in the race, but stewards at Churchill Downs ruled that he veered into another horse's path and slowed that horse's race. (Thank Goodness NASCAR doesn't have a silly rule like this)
The appeal, filed by Gary and Mary West, reads, "The stewards' acts in reviewing the 145th running of the Kentucky Derby were arbitrary and capricious, and did not comply with applicable administrative regulations. Their determination to disqualify Maximum Security is not supported by substantial evidence."
However KHRC rules say that track stewards' decisions are final, so there will be no review. The Wests have suggested they may take legal action.
