Fans were thrilled when it seemed like Dolly Parton joined TikTok over the weekend. Unfortunately, though, the account turned out to be a deep fake.

“Woohoo! Well hello, I guess I’m on TikTok!” Parton says in the fake video. “I just dropped in to say everything’s gonna be OK. You keep the faith.”

After the TikTok garnered tons of views and comments from excited fans, a representative for the 'Jolene' singer revealed it was not actually her account. Somebody used an old video of the country music icon from her Imagination Library website and doctored it.

"Take a closer look..." the spokesperson told Today, adding that TikTko had already removed the video. A spokesperson from TikTok then confirmed the account was removed for violating the platform’s community guidelines.

While fans will be disappointed that Parton hasn't joined TikTok just yet, it's most likely because she's got a lot going on at the moment. Not only did Parton recently release her first signature scent, but she also announced plans to publish her first novel.

"I cannot be more excited about the release of my very first novel," Parton gushed on Instagram earlier this year. "I also have a new CD to go along with the book, based on its characters and situations. I hope you enjoy the book and the songs as much as we’ve enjoyed putting it together."

Parton is teaming up with bestselling author James Patterson for Run, Rose, Run. The novel takes inspiration from Parton's own experiences as a young woman in the music industry—with a fictional twist, of course.

"The source of [Rose's] heart-wrenching songs is a brutal secret she has done everything to hide," a press release for the novel teases. "But the past she has fled is reaching out to control her future—even if it means destroying everything she has worked for."

Run, Rose, Run, will be published by Little, Brown and Company on March 7, 2022.
