GRAYTON BEACH, FL -- A beach in Northwest Florida wins best of the nation honors in Dr Beach's annual survey.
Dr. Beach... aka Dr. Stephen Leatherman of Florida International University... says Grayton Beach, between Destin and Panama City, is number one in 2020.
Only one other Florida beach made the top 10, Caladesi Island near Clearwater in Pinellas County, coming in at number six.
Leatherman has been listing best beaches for three decades... criteria include beach size at low tide, cleanliness and development... the less, the better.
