NBA Announces Eight-Player HORSE Challenge

The NBA will be hosting an eight-player HORSE tournament this weekend. The tournament will be headlined by Chris Paul and Trae Young and will include a couple of WNBA stars and a few recently retired NBA players. The players will all be competing from their own home courts to abide by social distancing guidelines enacted due to the coronavirus pandemic

The contestants will be separated into two groups, with the winners of each group advancing to the finals. The first group will see Chauncey Billups go head to head with Trae Young, while Tamika Catchings will face off against Mike Conley Jr.

In the second group, Zach LaVine will compete against Paul Pierce, and Allie Quigley will take on Chris Paul.

The tournament will work just like a traditional game of HORSE. Each player will attempt a shot on their own hoop. Their opponent will then try to recreate the shot. If they fail, they will be given a letter. Once they spell out "HORSE," they will be eliminated.

The first round will air on ESPN on Easter Sunday at 7 p.m. ET. The finals will air on Thursday (April 16) at 9 p.m. ET.
