Walgreens Raises Age To Buy Tobacco Products To 21

Walgreens is raising the age for tobacco sales to 21, with the new policy taking effect in September.

The drug store giant faces possible sanctions from the FDA, which calls it the biggest violator when it comes to selling tobacco products to underage buyers.

The move to raise the minimum age for tobacco sales is seen as a response to that.

In Florida, those under 21 may soon be unable to purchase or possess cigarettes and vaping devices anywhere in the state with a bill raising the smoking age moving through Tallahassee.

The bill is ready for a floor vote in the House with a similar proposal making its way through the Senate.
